Fabulous Fourth

There's no better way to spend the birth of our wondrous nation right in the heart of its capital. The National Mall in DC is where I found myself gazing at the glorious fireworks in the night sky over some of the most historic monuments. Here are a few snapshots from the day.

Traveling

I have found traveling to be one of the most rewarding things I've done so far. Even simply going to school several states away from home was culturally opening, and since then I've had a couple other opportunities to see different parts of the country that were unreal. This summer I flew out to Westchester, NY to spend time with my roommate for next year, and then together we took the train down to Washington, DC to meet up with some more friends from school. From there we headed back to NY where I met up with my boyfriend and we spent some time in the Adirondacks. More photos to follow, but here are some from the traveling portion of my trip.

Easter

Easter weekend! So strange celebrating this major holiday away from the familiarities and traditions of family and home. Despite being over 1,000 miles away from my relatives, I found an equally enjoyable and spiritually uplifting way to celebrate Easter. I went to a Presbyterian church service in the morning with a couple friends, enjoyed "family" brunch with the crew team, and went to a jaw-dropping, tear-jerking, hands-raising concert/service at Grace at Midtown. The following shots are from Center Stage.

Green

Any true Minnesotan knows that it's never over till it's over. I've come to learn that Georgia is almost equally as bipolar. But when I got a sunburn in February, I can't help but keep my hopes up that these first few signs of spring actually do indicate that warmer days are on their way. I snapped these shots walking around a residential neighborhood near my school. Fingers crossed none of this gets covered by any more snow before Spring!
